in the history of both banks

We are very pleased to announce the acquisition of Bankhaus Lampe on 05.03.2020. The closing of the transaction is subject to approval by the regulatory authorities. This merger will be groundbreaking and very significant for both banks - a milestone.

Together, we will become one of the leading private banks in Germany with around 1,400 employees and the core business segments Private Banking, Asset Management, Asset Servicing and Investment Banking.

Both companies employ colleagues who give their utmost every day and on whose commitment the success of the partnership-based merger will continue to depend. That is why we are taking every employee, but also all interested parties, friends and clients of both banks on our further journey.

To ensure the greatest possible transparency throughout the integration process, we will create a central information and communication area at this point. In the coming months, we will provide you here with the latest news and background information on the merger of our two banks.

Hauck & Aufhäuser and Bankhaus Lampe

Together we will achieve even more

Hauck & Aufhäuser looks back on a history of more than 220 years. The company was created by the merger of two traditional private banks: Georg Hauck & Sohn Bankiers in Frankfurt am Main, founded in 1796, and Bankhaus H. Aufhäuser, on the market in Munich since 1870. On 1 January 1998, the two banks merged to form Hauck & Aufhäuser. This merger, too, was once much discussed. Today it is a valuable part of our success story and shows that a merger of two banks can secure the future viability of a bank.

After all, in 2018 we were able to close the most successful business year since the last financial crisis for the second time in a row. In our business divisions, we received several awards for our performance and the quality of our advisory services. This shows us that we have made many correct decisions in recent years.

Hauck & Aufhäuser looks back on two acquisitions
in the past years

The acquisition of the Sal. Oppenheim companies in Luxembourg and Crossroads Capital Management Limited in Ireland was successful

In 2017, the Bank had already acquired and successfully integrated Sal. Oppenheim jr. & Cie. Luxembourg S.A. and Oppenheim Asset Management Services S.à.r.l. In 2019, Hauck & Aufhäuser also acquired a majority interest in the Irish company Crossroads Capital Management Limited. Just as with the most recent acquisitions, with Bankhaus Lampe we are also striving for the holistic takeover and integration of all employees, subsidiaries, customers and locations.
