The new bank will be named
Hauck Aufhäuser Lampe

And is given a new, common logo

The first important change will be reflected in our name in the future: In the future, the new bank will be named Hauck Aufhäuser Lampe. We felt this was important because we will have more of everything together: more expertise, employees, locations, services and products. Together with Bankhaus Lampe, our branch network will grow, but above all we will gain even more colleagues who are passionate about banking and their clients.

In concrete terms, this means that we are significantly strengthening our service offering and regional presence in Private and Corporate Banking and Asset Management. After all, we feel a personal responsibility to ensure by all means that whether you are a private individual or an entrepreneur, you always enjoy tailor-made solutions and reliable delivery for all your requests. This is what all of our employees are committed to, now and in the future.

This is also what our new logo stands for, which we are launching as a sneak peek on the occasion of this special day and the upcoming brand relaunch for our clients, colleagues and community near and far.

Hauck Aufhäuser Lampe: #bettertogether

Sneak Peek: Discover our new logo

Our new logo combines both this idea and our respective initial letters. After extensive preparation, we will now bring these guiding principles to life in the coming months until the merger of the banks (legally: Anwachsung) and finalize, among other things, our business model, organizational structure and, of course, our external image. And of course we will take you all on this journey with us.

We are now combining our forces
for the benefit of our clients

What are the next steps?

In the next few months, we will have to bring all of that to life, as the two banks will also be legally merged on December 31, 2021. This means that the main internal processes will be consolidated. After that, it will be a matter of successfully completing the technical migration. In the coming months, we will therefore be making all the necessary preparations to ensure that the integration is as promising and smooth as possible.

The subsequent technical merger will then bring together the IT and operations of the two banks. The successful legal and technical migration of Bankhaus Lampe is a key cornerstone and success factor of the "Momentum 2025" strategy. The core elements of this strategy are sustainable growth, further development of products and services, increased use of intelligent technology and targeted investment in the employees of Hauck Aufhäuser Lampe. We have prepared more answers to your questions in the Q&A below.

With around 1,300 employees, assets under management and administration of over 200 billion euros and total assets of over 10 billion euros, the bank focuses on the four core business areas of private banking (incl. lending business), asset management, asset servicing and investment banking.

As a result of the acquisition, we are committing ourselves even more strongly to our business with private clients and enterprises. We have formulated our value proposition as follows: We will become the entrepreneurially managed house with a focus on cross-generational service for enterprises and families as a partner in all wealth and financing matters across all liquid and illiquid asset classes - and with exclusive access to both lending and investment solutions around corporate issues. The acquisition will expand our product offering in detail. Furthermore, our regional presence will be significantly strengthened.

The acquisition is being made with the aim of further expanding our already strong position, leveraging joint economies of scale and assuming a market-leading position in the business areas of private and corporate banking, asset management, asset servicing and investment banking in Germany.

Three main growth and investment areas have been identified as part of Strategy 2025: Asset Servicing, Private and Corporate Banking (incl. the lending business) and Asset Management. The successful integration of Bankhaus Lampe is a key cornerstone and success factor for the implementation of this strategy. Core elements here are sustainable growth in the business areas through innovations and continuous further development of products and services, sustainability, greater use of technology, in particular artificial intelligence, and targeted support for employees as key pillars of the growth path. Furthermore, the topics of blockchain and digital assets will be pursued further.

Through the merger, we are combining the strengths of both banks and will be able to better serve the needs of our customers on the investment and financing side. As a joint bank, we will have a much stronger regional presence and be more visible to our current and future clients. As a result of the merger of the two banks, the product range will become even more comprehensive in all business areas. This will enable us to meet the needs of our clients even more effectively.

For clients of these business areas, it will hardly be noticeable. We will contact you individually and in a timely manner as required.

Hauck & Aufhäuser and Bankhaus Lampe

History and Background

Hauck & Aufhäuser looks back on a history of more than 225 years. The company was created by the merger of two traditional private banks: Georg Hauck & Sohn Bankiers in Frankfurt am Main, founded in 1796, and Bankhaus H. Aufhäuser, on the market in Munich since 1870. On 1 January 1998, the two banks merged to form Hauck & Aufhäuser. This merger, too, was once much discussed. Today it is a valuable part of our success story and shows that a merger of two banks can secure the future viability of a bank.

After all, in 2018 we were able to close the most successful business year since the last financial crisis for the second time in a row. In our business divisions, we received several awards for our performance and the quality of our advisory services. This shows us that we have made many correct decisions in recent years.
